Nail cutting time used to be a very daunting task for myself and G.G. It used to take two people, one holding her and the other cutting the nails. I was able to assemble and suspend without any assistance. While suspended, she just laid there while I trimmed her nails without hesitation from her! Sidenote: a few days before I put this on her to trim her nails, I put her in it each day and just carried her around the house for a little bit so she could get used to it and not associated with having to get her nails cut. This reduced a lot of stress and anxiety on both of our parts! This is one of the best purchases I’ve ever made!
My dachshunds don't like getting their nails trimmed. This nail trimming hammock is Awesome! We mounted the clips on our shower pole and the doxies seemed so comfortable just hanging there while we trimmed their nails (we also baited them with some yummy treats for an extra distraction). There was No fighting and No biting. It literally took only a few minutes to get them all trimmed! This is wonderful.
Our 6 month old puppy won’t let us cut his nails. We have been desensitizing him to having his paws touched and to nail clippers since he was a puppy but he still refuses to do it and snaps at us. This allowed me to finally trim his nails. He was still trying to snap but couldn’t reach us. I prefer to use positive reinforcement for things but it wasn’t working and his nails were getting out of control. It did take two of us to hook him up. I’m glad this came with carabiners instead of those cheap S hooks other ones come with. We have an over the door coat hanger that we put him on. For reference we got a size M and our dog is a 15 pound Boston Terrier.
